About MyFitsy

What is MyFitsy?
A platform where a client and a coach find each other and then do the work. Two apps share one set of records: MyFitsy for people who train, MyFitsy Coach for trainers.
What makes it different from other coaching apps?
Other coaching software assumes you already have clients, and directories hand you a phone number and stop. MyFitsy does both halves: a search across every public coach on the platform, and everything that happens after they say yes.
Why two apps instead of one?
The two jobs are different. A client wants one question answered — what am I doing today. A coach needs a planning surface. Combined, both people wade through the other's tooling.
Do I need a coach to use it?
No. You can write up to ten of your own programmes, log against them, track measurements and set goals with nobody else involved. Finding a coach is a search away when you want one.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone and Android, both from day one.
Is there a web or desktop version?
The apps are phone-only. Coaches also get a public web page at their handle, which anyone can open in a browser.
What languages?
English.
Who makes MyFitsy?
A small independent team in Estonia. See About.

Finding a coach

How do I find a coach?
Open the Trainers tab, filter by speciality and country, read the profiles, and tap Apply on the one you want. They accept or decline.
How many coaches can I search?
Every coach with a public profile, filterable by any of 196 countries and 32 specialities. A search returns up to 50, ordered by average rating.
Can coaches pay to appear higher?
No. Placement is not for sale — results are ordered by what clients thought of them. Nobody is at the top because they bought it.
Does my coach have to be in my city?
No. Connections are not tied to location, and each of you can use your own units, so a coach in one country and a client in another is an ordinary arrangement.
Are the reviews real?
Only someone who actually trained with a coach can review them, one review per pair, and a coach cannot delete a bad one.
Do you check coaches' qualifications?
No. Coaches list their own certifications and MyFitsy does not verify them — ask to see them, and a good coach will not mind being asked. What the platform does give you is reviews only real clients can leave, and reporting with moderation behind it.
I am a coach. How do clients find me?
Through the same search. Write a bio — that is the one thing needed to appear publicly — set your rates, and you are listed. It costs nothing.
Why does my coach profile not appear?
Almost always an empty bio. A profile becomes publicly visible once it has one. Check too that your profile is public and your account is in good standing.

Accounts and handles

How do I create an account?
An email address and a password, or continue with Apple, or continue with Google — whichever you prefer. Nothing is closed off by the choice: an account started with Apple or Google can add a password later, and then both ways in work.
Can I sign in with Apple or Google?
Yes, in both apps. Signing in that way the first time creates the account, so there is no separate sign-up step. Apple lets you hide your email address if you would rather; everything works the same either way.
Can one account be both a coach and a client?
No. The two are separate, so one email address — or one Apple ID, or one Google account — belongs to one side. To do both, use a different one in each app.
I signed in and it said this is a coach account.
You are using the client app with coach credentials, or the reverse. Install the other app and sign in there — the account itself is fine. The same applies to an Apple ID or Google account already registered on the other side.
Can I convert a client account into a coach account?
No. Register a new account in the other app with a different email address, Apple ID or Google account.
I signed up with Google or Apple. Can I have a password too?
Yes. Settings → Set a password, and from then on you can sign in either way. It is worth doing: deleting your account is confirmed with your password.
What is my @handle?
A unique name every account is given at sign-up, and what in-app search matches on. For a coach it is also a public web page at myfitsy.com/@yourhandle.
Can I change my handle?
Yes, from your profile. It has to be 3 to 30 characters — letters, digits and underscores, starting with a letter — and the old address stops working once you change it.
How do I change my password?
Settings → Change password, in either app.
I have forgotten my password.
Use the reset link on the sign-in screen and follow the email it sends you.
Can I change my email address?
Not in the app. Email support and we will sort it out.
How many coaches can I have at once?
As many as you like. Each has their own programmes and sessions with you, and each connection is separate.
How many clients can a coach have?
No limit, and no paid tier that introduces one.

Coaching relationships

Can a coach add me without asking?
No. Every connection needs both sides to agree, and nothing of yours is shared until you accept.
What can my coach see?
Your measurements and body-composition estimate, your logged workouts and skipped days, your goals, your sessions, and your messages with them. Not your messages with a different coach, and not the programmes you wrote for yourself.
Can other clients see my data?
No. Clients do not see each other's records, including inside a group.
How do I stop working with a coach?
End the relationship from their profile. They stop seeing new activity and their programmes for you end.
What happens to my history if we stop?
It stays in your account. Measurements, workouts and goals belong to you, not to your coach and not to us.
Can I reconnect with a coach later?
Yes, and it picks up the existing relationship rather than starting a blank history.
Can I see who I trained with in the past?
Yes. Every coach you have trained under stays in your training history, with the sessions you did under them.

Training and programmes

Who writes my programme?
Your coach, or you. A coach assigns programmes to you; you can also write up to ten of your own and run one at a time.
Can my coach see the programmes I wrote myself?
No — never, before or after you connect. They are visible only to you, enforced in the database rather than by the interface.
What kinds of exercise are supported?
Three: weights (sets, reps, load), bodyweight (sets and reps), and cardio (time and distance). A pull-up and a 5 km run are both first-class.
How does the app know which workout is next?
It counts what you have completed and shows the next day in the plan. Miss a week and it resumes where you stopped — there is no streak to break.
What if I want to skip a day?
There is a skip option during the workout. It moves the plan on like a completed session and is recorded as a skip, so your coach can tell the difference between a skipped day and a light one.
Can I do two sessions in one day?
Yes. Once a day is complete, Today offers to start the next one straight away.
Where do I see past workouts?
Your history is a list of dates. Tap one and it opens that session exactly as you logged it.
Can my coach edit what I logged?
No. You log, they plan. Your record is yours.
Can I edit a past session?
No. A finished workout stands as recorded.
If my coach assigns a new programme, does the old one stop?
No. Existing programmes keep running — one ends when your coach ends it, or when the relationship does.
Can a coach reuse a programme across clients?
Yes, that is the point. Each assignment is independent, so one client's progress never touches another's.
Does the app remember exercises a coach has used before?
Yes. Typing the first letters offers ones you have used, with the video link attached last time. Correcting a mistyped link replaces it everywhere it is offered.

Measurements and progress

What can I measure?
Fifteen things: body weight, an estimated body-fat percentage, and thirteen circumference sites — neck, shoulders, chest, waist, hips, both arms, both forearms, both thighs and both calves.
Do I have to enter measurements?
No, they are optional. You lose the charts, the body view and goal tracking, which is most of the reason to bother.
How often should I measure?
Every week or two. Measuring the same way each time matters far more than measuring precisely.
How accurate is the body-fat figure?
It is an estimate from your measurements and height, not a clinical reading. Use the direction of travel and ignore the decimal place.
Why is my chart empty?
A chart needs at least two readings inside the range you have selected. Widen the range or add another measurement.
What is the rate of change?
How fast a measurement is actually moving — “0.4 kg per week” — which answers the question an average cannot: how long is this going to take. It needs at least a week between your first and last reading, and is quoted per month once there is enough history.
Can I use pounds and inches?
Yes. Settings → Units changes every number in both apps immediately. You and your coach can each use your own.
How do goals work?
Pick a metric, a target and an optional deadline. Progress reads from your logged measurements, so it updates itself.
Can I share a goal?
Yes, as a card with a written summary, in your own units. You can leave the figures off it entirely.

Scheduling

Who books sessions?
Your coach. Sessions appear in your calendar with the note they wrote, and you are notified if one moves or is cancelled.
Can I book my own sessions?
No — message your coach to arrange a time and they book it.
How far ahead can a repeating series run?
Up to 52 weeks, either from a preset or any number of weeks the coach chooses.
Can one session in a series be moved?
Yes. Editing asks whether the change applies to that occurrence only or to it and every later one.
What happens if two sessions overlap?
The coach is warned before the booking is created, and can override it for a genuine double session.
Do group members see each other?
No. A member sees the group name, not the attendee list.
What happens to a group session if the time changes?
Every attendee's session moves together, and each of them is notified.

Messaging

Who can I message?
Anyone you have a coaching relationship with, current or past.
Can I send photos or video?
Yes, one per message, up to 50 MB. Tap anything you receive to open it full-screen.
Are chat photos public?
No. They live in a private bucket, unlike profile and portfolio images, and are reachable only through signed links issued to the two of you.
Can I delete a message?
No. A sent message stands.
Are messages encrypted?
In transit, yes. Not end-to-end — moderators can read a conversation if it is reported.
Will I get notified on my phone?
Yes, with a switch in Settings if you would rather not. Either way everything is kept in your in-app activity feed.

Coach profiles and reviews

What goes on a coach profile?
Bio, years of experience, certifications, specialities from a list of 32, the gyms they work at, location, contact details, a price list, a before-and-after portfolio and client reviews.
What can a coach charge for?
Whatever they sell: per session, hour, course, week, month, programme, or one-time. Rates are shown before you get in touch.
Who can leave a review?
Only a client who has trained with that coach, one review per pair.
Can a coach delete a bad review?
No. A rating a coach could curate would be worth nothing to the person reading it.
What happens to my reviews if I delete my account?
They stay, with your name removed, so a coach's rating is not rewritten every time a client leaves. Nothing identifies you and the review can no longer be traced back or edited.
Are portfolio photos public?
Yes, so client permission is required before a coach posts theirs. The terms are explicit about it.

Safety and moderation

Someone is behaving badly. What can I do?
Two separate things, and you can do both. Block them — instant, entirely yours, and they are not told. Report them — it goes to a moderator who can warn or suspend the account.
What does blocking do?
Stops all new messages in both directions, ends any coaching relationship between you, and cancels sessions still to come. Messages already sent stay in your history.
Is the person told they have been blocked?
No, and they cannot detect it.
How do I unblock someone?
Settings → Blocked accounts. It does not restore the coaching relationship or the cancelled sessions — those need arranging again.
Is blocking the same as ending a coaching relationship?
No, and this catches people out. Ending the relationship stops the coaching but does not stop them messaging you. Blocking does.
What happens after I report someone?
A moderator reads it within 24 hours. The person is never told who reported them, and outcomes run from a warning to a permanent suspension.
Are uploaded pictures checked?
Profile pictures and portfolio photos go through Google Cloud Vision before they are published — nudity and graphic content are rejected outright and never appear. Reports catch what screening misses.

Billing

What does it cost?
The coach app is free in full. The client app is two weeks free, then $4.99 a month. See Pricing.
Why does the price look different to me?
Apple and Google convert and apply local tax, so the exact figure at checkout varies a little by country. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
Do you take a cut of what I pay my coach?
No. That money does not pass through MyFitsy at all — you pay your coach however the two of you arranged, and they keep every bit of it.
Can clients pay their coach through the app?
No. Coaches display their rates and invoice as they already do.
How do I cancel?
Wherever you subscribed — Apple ID subscription settings on iPhone, Google Play subscriptions on Android. You keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. Measurements, workout history and goals stay readable, and adding new entries resumes when you subscribe again.
Does a coach pay anything to be listed?
No. No listing fee, no commission, and no way to buy a higher position in search.

Privacy and your data

Where is my data stored?
In the EU — Supabase in Stockholm.
Are there adverts or trackers?
No advertising networks and no third-party analytics in either app.
How are body measurements treated?
As special-category health data under Article 9 of the GDPR, processed only with your explicit consent. Entering them is optional.
Who can see my measurements?
You, and any coach you are actively connected to. Nobody else.
Are profile photos public?
Yes — they are in a public bucket, so the URL is reachable by anyone holding it. Chat attachments are not.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Email support from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days, as the GDPR requires.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account. You then have 30 days to change your mind: sign in during that window and tap the keep-my-account button your profile shows — signing in by itself is not enough.
What survives deletion?
Almost nothing. Your measurements, workouts, programmes, uploaded files and messages — including the copies in other people's conversations — are all removed. The exception is reviews you wrote, which stay with your name stripped off.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
No. Cancel that in your Apple ID or Google Play settings.
