Delete your account
You can do it yourself, from inside the app, in about fifteen seconds. Applies to both MyFitsy and MyFitsy Coach — and leaving should be as easy as joining was.
How to do it
- 1
Settings → Delete account
The gear icon, in either app.
- 2
Confirm with your password
Asked for on purpose, so nobody who picks up your unlocked phone can do this to you.
- 3
You are signed out
Your account is marked for deletion. Nothing is erased yet.
You have 30 days to change your mind
People delete things in a bad week and regret it in a better one, so nothing is erased straight away. For thirty days your account sits marked but intact.
Signing back in is not enough on its own. When you sign in during those thirty days, your profile screen shows the date your account is due to be erased, with a button to keep it. You have to tap that button — otherwise the countdown carries on and the account is erased on schedule.
Cancel it and everything is exactly as you left it: measurements, workouts, goals, coaching connections, all of it.
What gets deleted after 30 days
Effectively everything. Your account and all the records attached to it are removed permanently by an automated job — not by someone remembering to run it.
- Your profile, display name, handle and photo
- Every body measurement, body-composition estimate and goal
- Your logged workouts and full training history
- Your coaching connections and booked sessions
- The programmes you wrote, and any assigned to you
- Your messages — including ones you sent, which also disappear from the other person's conversation
- Your notifications, settings and any chat photos or video you uploaded
- For coaches: your public profile, prices, portfolio and web page at your handle
Your handle is released when the account goes, so somebody else can later claim it.
The only things that remain
- Reviews you wrote, with your name removed. The rating and the comment stay so the coach's average is not rewritten by someone leaving, but nothing identifies you — the review simply reads as being from a former client, and it can no longer be traced back or edited
- Records the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires — and nothing beyond that
- Anything your coach recorded separately in their own notes or systems outside MyFitsy, which is theirs and not ours to erase
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so any billing record lives with them. Cancel the subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play settings — deleting your MyFitsy account does not cancel it for you.
The privacy policy sets out retention in full.
Deleting only some of it, and keeping the account
You do not have to leave to remove something. Most of what you record can be deleted on its own, from the screen it lives on, and the account carries on as normal.
- Clients: any measurement, any goal, and any programme you wrote
- Coaches: any programme, portfolio entry, price, or client group
Open the item, then delete it. Anything deleted this way is gone immediately — there is no thirty-day wait, because there is no account to restore.
For anything else, email support@myfitsy.com from the address on your account and say what you want removed. We answer within thirty days, as the GDPR requires.
Cannot get into the app?
Email support@myfitsy.com from the address on your account with DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the subject. We will check it is really you and erase it within 30 days, as the GDPR requires.
If it is only the password you have lost, you do not need us — reset it from the sign-in screen and then delete the account yourself.
